Bohemian Bedroom/Bathroom - Week 4

If this is Week 4 of the One Room Challenge then that means I am at the halfway point! I hope I’m not the only one having a hard time staying focused and getting projects done while your entire family is at home due to quarantine. Every time I plan on doing something on my list, I am interrupted with something else that somebody else needs me to do. My goal is to stay positive and keep moving forward and hopefully everything will work out. This week a few stores finally reopened so I was able to find bathroom mirror replacements at Kirkland’s and they were on SALE! Yay! I started sanding the bedroom furniture and I’ll be painting basically all week long. Unfortunately today I had waist most of my day cleaning and organizing my garage so I had a clean space to paint furniture inside in case it rains. The weather has been very unpredictable lately and it’s very irritating! 🌧🌤🌩 Tomorrow morning I plan on scrolling through some of the other Guest Participants and Featured Designers to check on the progress of their rooms. There is literally hundreds of other people who are also participating! That is tons of DIY INSPIRATION!

THANK YOU to the host of this event, the One Room Challenge and the Official Media Partner, Better Homes and Gardens. I‘m super excited to be a Guest Participant again for the fourth time!

Bohemian Bedroom/Bathroom - ORC Week 3

It’s the third week of the One Room Challenge and my projects are more behind than usual. The kiddos are officially done with quarantined home school so everything has gotten more chaotic and less scheduled. Also it is Memorial Day WEEKEND and the weather is finally sunny. Which means all we want to do is hangout outside and spend time together. Therefore I’m not inside getting my rooms done like I probably should be. Oops! But hopefully I will quickly get back on track and feel a little less guilty. Plus once I get my rooms done inside, I can start planning my backyard design! I swear it seems like the DIY home projects are never ending. Lol.

This week I tried to order the mirrors I wanted online but they SOLD OUT! Super bummed because I didn’t have a backup plan and due to quarantine, the majority of home decor stores are still closed. I was able to purchase the bathroom towels which match my Opalhouse BIRD duvet that I got a while ago and also found a couple decorative ceramic birds on clearance! Not really sure where I will hang them but they were too adorable to pass up. Another unforeseen event that happened was Pier 1 announced that they will be going out of business! Thankfully I did get my throw pillows from there way ahead of time. They are currently having a closeout SALE on their website so maybe I’ll find some more great deals. Pier 1 has been one of my FAVORITE stores for many years and I will miss shopping there. 👋🏻😢 Here is a close-up of the bedding and the insane amount of throw pillows which are going to drive my hubby crazy!

The California KING size upholstered headboard was ordered online from Target.com. It is dark gray tweed which is similar to the fabric on my couch/chair/ottoman  in the living/dining room. I try to find similar fabrics or wood tones to keep consistent throughout my home because it’s a small house. The dark gray paint color for the bedroom furniture should match perfectly to the headboard. I chose a dark color so the bright colorful bedding would stand out more. This WEEK I am planning on starting to paint the bathroom walls, bathroom vanity and bedroom furniture. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, otherwise my garage will be jam packed with every paint project I can fit in there!

Bohemian Bedroom/Bathroom - ORC Week 1

I have been anticipating this moment for a while now and it’s finally time for the One Room Challenge again! This will be the FOURTH time I have been a GUEST PARTICIPANT for the ORC!  Even though I am in quarantine at home doesn’t mean I can’t get some projects done! Let’s face it, I have TONS of free time on my hands. Normally the Spring One Room Challenge would have started by now but they decided to postpone the event and moved it to May and also extended the duration for 8 weeks instead of 6 weeks. So because of the extended deadline, I decided to go all out and decorate TWO rooms instead of just ONE! The first room is my master BEDROOM and the second one is my master BATHROOM. I plan on using the same colors and fabric designs so it just makes sense to work on them at the same time. The BEDROOM needs way less work done than the BATHROOM so most of the physical labor will be spent in there.
